网络关系嵌入对企业绿色创新质量的影响研究

摘要:网络关系嵌入对绿色创新的影响已得到学界关注,然而鲜有研究探讨网络关系嵌入如何影响绿色创新质量。基于嵌入性理论和资源编排理论,以2014—2023年中国沪深A股上市制造业企业为研究样本,实证检验网络关系嵌入对企业绿色创新质量的影响,以及绿色资源整合在网络关系嵌入与绿色创新质量之间的作用机制。研究结果发现,网络关系嵌入对企业绿色创新质量具有正向影响,在稳健性检验之后这一结论仍然成立。机制分析结果表明,网络关系嵌入通过绿色资源整合进而提升企业绿色创新质量。异质性分析结果表明,网络关系嵌入对绿色创新质量的提升效应在国有企业和重污染行业企业中更为明显。本研究厘清了网络关系嵌入、绿色资源整合与绿色创新质量的内在逻辑关系,为企业优化网络关系管理、强化资源整合能力以提升绿色创新质量提供了理论启迪和实践参考。

Study on the Impact of Network Relational Embeddedness on Enterprise Green Innovation Quality

Abstract: As a crucial driving force for green transformation, green innovation has played a significant role in boosting the coordinated advancement of economic development and environmental protection. However, enterprise green innovation quality is faced with challenges such as difficult technology breakthroughs, substantial R&D investment, and high risks. The embeddedness in the innovation network plays a crucial role in enhancing green innovation quality. However, few studies have explored how to use network relational embeddedness to integrate green resources, and then promote green innovation quality of enterprises. Therefore, it is necessary to further explore the relationship between network relational embeddedness and green innovation quality, and the underlying mechanism of enterprises' resource orchestration behaviors.

Drawing on embeddedness theory and resource orchestration theory, this study collects data from the A-share manufacturing listed companies in China from 2014 to 2023, and empirically examines the impact of network relational embeddedness on green innovation quality, and the mediating effect of green resource integration between network relational embeddedness and green innovation quality. The finding indicates that network relational embeddedness exerts a significant positive effect on green innovation quality, and this conclusion still holds after alleviating the endogeneity problem as well as various robustness tests. The mechanism analysis shows that network relational embeddedness can promote green resource integration to enhance green innovation quality. Heterogeneity analysis demonstrates that the positive effect of network relational embeddedness on green innovation quality is more pronounced in state-owned enterprises and firms within heavily polluting industries. The conclusions present the inherent logical relationships among network relational embeddedness, green resource integration, and green innovation quality, and enrich theoretical insights into how network relational embeddedness may affect green innovation quality at the firm level.

The contributions of this study are mainly reflected in the following aspects. First, it reveals that network relational embeddedness has a significant promoting effect on green innovation quality. Network relational embeddedness can help enterprises overcome resource constraints and technology challenges to reduce the risk of green innovation, and improve collaborative technology breakthrough among R&D partners to enhance green innovation quality. This study enriches the micro-evidence about the relationship between network relational embeddedness and green innovation quality. Second, it extends the concept of resource orchestration to the domain of green innovation, and analyzes the effect mechanisms of green resource integration between network relational embeddedness and green innovation quality, clarifying the key role of resource orchestration in enhancing green innovation quality through network relational embeddedness. This study provides valuable hints for enterprises to optimize network relationship management and strengthen green resource integration capabilities to enhance green innovation quality.
